The use of story for developing geographical knowledge, skills and attitudes

Fictional texts and novels bring real and imaginative environments into the classroom. They expose children to a variety of places, people lifestyles and alternative ways of thinking about the world. Some stories include a clearly defined journey of a character/s and are an ideal resource for developing the geographical skills of mapping.
