YEOTY 2023

PDST Young Economist of the Year (YEOTY) awards 2023 - We are proud to announce the 10th anniversary of our prestigious PDST Young Economist of the Year (YEOTY) awards. This initiative, funded by the Teacher Education Section (TES) of the Department of Education (DE), was established in 2013 and was first hosted by the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting at Maynooth University.

This year's event promises to be the most exciting yet, with students from all over Ireland competing for the title of PDST Young Economist of the Year. The awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28 in the O’Reilly Hall, University College Dublin and will be attended by leading economists, educators, and the 2023 YEOTY official partners.

The PDST Young Economist of the Year national awards empowers post-primary students across Ireland to use economics to understand the world around them. Through research and inquiry, these students make informed conclusions on real-life issues and demonstrate their deep understanding of economics.

The 2023 overall theme is 'Broken Supply Chains, Wage-Price Spirals, Fiscal Profligacy, De-Globalisation, War; Inflation strikes back!'.

The PDST is committed to promoting excellence in economics education and is proud to support the next generation of economists through the PDST Young Economist of the Year awards.
