This introductory Assessment for Learning ( AFL) workshop provides teachers with an overview of AFL and the 5 Key AFL techniques. Emphasis is on the central component of effective AFL : the identification of clear Learning Outcomes which describe what a learner should know, understand and be able to do as a result of learning and Success Criteria which indicate to both the student and teacher if the Learning Outcomes have been achieved to the best of the student’s ability. The workshop also provides concrete examples of the how to use the associated support materials accompanying this presentation.
